Who we are
The Armenian School of London is a planned school, organised by a volunteer founding committee. Until the school’s charity is registered, the founding committee is responsible for the details you give us (the “data controller”). When the charity is registered, your details will pass to it for the same purposes and we will update this notice. Contact: hello@armenianschoollondon.com.
What we collect
- Your name and email address.
- How you would like to be involved (parent, supporter, educator or professional).
- The month and year of birth of children who might attend — never their names.
- Optionally: the first part of your postcode, whether Armenian is spoken at home, and how you heard about us.
The “When could my child start?” tool works entirely in your browser. The date you enter there is not sent to us.
Why we use it
- To keep you informed about the school — the site, planning, fundraising and admissions.
- To plan how many places each year group needs and where families live.
- To show funders, planners and lenders, in totals only, how many families support the school.
- To email you the documents that match the roles you choose — the families deck, prospectus deck, business plan or financial model.
Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give when you join the register. You can withdraw it at any time by replying to any email or writing to us, and we will delete your details. Information about whether Armenian is spoken at home is optional and used only, in aggregate, to plan language teaching.
Who we share it with
We never sell your details or share them with other organisations for their own use. We use two service providers to run the register: Resend, which stores contact details and sends our emails, and Vercel, which hosts this website. They may process data outside the UK, under contracts with safeguards required by UK data protection law. Totals we share with others never identify individual families.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to remove it, or for two years after the school opens or the project ends — whichever is sooner. Admissions, when they open, will be a separate process with its own notice.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your details, ask us to correct or delete them, or object to how we use them. Email hello@armenianschoollondon.com. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
